Event List

Speed Programming Competition
In this competition, teams would be given a set of problems and they will have to solve the problems in a given time.

  1. The registration fee for this competition would be Rs. 1400/- per team.
  2. During competition Internet access will not be provided.
  3. You may not collaborate in any way (verbally, electronically, in writing, using gestures, etc.) with other teams during the contest.
  4. A team will comprise of maximum 2 members.
  5. Duration of the competition will be 100 minutes.
  6. Please be on time (09:45am) in the concerned Labs. Students arriving late will not be provided with extra time.
  7. Every team will be provided with one computer/machine.
  8. A team can use only C++ programming language (Visual Studio IDE) to solve problems.
  9. The use of standard libraries and functions (methods) provided with the IDEs is allowed.
  10. All the queries related to given programming problems could only be asked in first 15 minutes. After that no query related to the given problems will be entertained.
  11. Decision of the judges shall be considered as final and cannot be challenged.
  12. If any team caught violating rules and regulations, that team may be disqualified without any warning and intimation.
  13. All solutions must be submitted in a single folder titled with team name (team names will be assigned before the competition).
  14. The organizers reserve the right to modify the above-mentioned rules if required.

Software Project Competition
In this competition, participants would display their undergraduate project that they have done in their degree program.

  1. Participants need to come with their complete project.
  2. They also need to display the poster of their project. Poster size should be 2 feet wide and 5 feet long.
  3. They need to send us the abstract of the project along with the registration files.
  4. The registration fee for this competition would be Rs. 2100/- (each project).
  5. The poster should contain the title, summary, tools and technologies that they have used.

AppThon Competition
The apps have dominated the mobile market completely. From small to big businesses, everyone is getting their dedicated mobile apps to lure more customers through mobile devices. Hope you find the best app idea to build!

  1. A team should consist on three members, however, two teams from each university are allowed.
  2. The idea should not be copied or taken from another event.
  3. The registration fee for this competition would be Rs. 2100/- per team.
  4. The application with same features should not exist hence, idea should be unique.
  5. A proper presentation should be made and is to be submitted any time before the opening ceremony of the ExcITe Cup.
  6. The features of the app should not promote violence or derogatory to any ethic or gender or religion.
  7. The app should not promote alcohol, illegal drugs or tobacco.
  8. Scoring will be done on the basis of uniqueness and clear ideas.
  9. A form will be provided in which member must mention the name of the app, platform, target user groups, app’s description, uniqueness in market (comparison with the previously proposed state-of-the-art apps in market).
  10. Participant can also provide a flow chart of the working of the app (may lead to bonus marks).
  11. Hints taken from other teams are prohibited.

Quiz Competition
The quiz competition would comprise of the following subjects:

  1. Operating Systems
  2. Databases
  3. Automata Theory
  4. Data Structures
  5. Algorithms
  6. Programming
  7. Computer Architecture
  8. Software Engineering
  9. Computer Networks

The Rules of Quiz Competition:
  • There would be maximum three members in each team. Two teams are allowed from each university.
  • There would be 20 seconds time to answer the question.
  • The team should first listen to complete question and then answer.
  • The registration fee for quiz competition would be Rs. 2100/- per team.

    Photography Competition
    It is said “Picture talks 1000 words”.

    In this competition, students will be given a topic. Students would need to capture the scene from the real time environment of the university which reflects the given topic in the best manner. The topic will be given in the morning and the students need to submit their one selected photograph to the event-organizers by the specified time.

    1. Participants need to bring their own camera.
    2. Only single student is allowed to participate in the event. Teams are not allowed. However, from each university three participants can participate.
    3. The registration fee for each participant would be Rs. 700.
    4. Cropped photo is eligible.
    5. Do not include your own name/watermark/monogram on the photo.
    6. Edited pictures will be disqualified.
    7. You can use professional cameras only. Pictures taken with Cell Phone camera will be disqualified.
    8. Picture taken only on current day are eligible for competition.
    9. Evaluation would be done on complete portfolio. Portfolio of one participant can have at most three (3) pictures.
    10. Pictures submitted after deadline time will disqualified.
    11. Pictures must be submitted to designate competition organizer only.

    e-Gaming Competition

    General Rules & Regulations
  • It is a 5(Five) Player team tournament. Only four teams from each university are allowed.
  • Each team must present 1 representative (known as captain). He is responsible for his team and will be responsible of all communication with the Referees.
  • Each team member must use the exact same team abbreviation (Clan Tag).
  • Each person attending the tournament must have read and accepted the rules and regulations. Ignoring it cannot be a reason put forward in case of an issue or dispute.
  • Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify the rules and regulations from time to time without notice, to protect the integrity and smooth flow of the tournament.
  • The standard mouse and keyboard will be provided.

  • Game Rules
    The following maps will be allowed only. The participants need to prepare themselves for this.
  • mp_crash
  • mp_crossfire
  • mp_backlot
  • mp_strike
  • mp_city street

  • The map selection will be on toss. The winning captain will choose the map of his own choice from the provided list of maps.
  • Promod will be played. All matches will be best of one except final match, Final match will be best of three.

  • If Disconnection Occurs during a Match
  • If server, network or electrical failure occurs the match is to be resumed and each team keeps the amount of points they had won.
  • A failure happening during the first round leads to restart of the entire match.
  • A player or team causing intentional failures are banned from the match (e.g. deliberate restart of the PC, deliberate disconnecting from the game etc.).

  • Additional Rules
  • Complains can only be filed by the team leader (i.e. a captain that represents the team).
  • If a captain does not agree to any rules, he/she can express his/her protest to a Match Referee before the completion of a match.
  • If a re-match is decided by the head, the team that does not follow this decision will be subject to disqualification.
  • Decision of match referee will be final and cannot be challenged.
  • The registration fee for this competition would be Rs. 3500/- per team.

    General Rules & Regulations
  • It is a 1 vs 1 Player tournament. Only two players from each university are allowed.
  • Each person attending the tournament must have read and accepted the rules and regulations. Ignoring it cannot be a reason put forward in case of an issue or dispute.
  • Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify the rules and regulations from time to time without notice, to protect the integrity and smooth flow of the tournament.
  • The joystick will be provided

  • Game Rules
  • The home and away team selection will be on toss. The winning person will choose the team of his own choice first and can chose weather to play international match or club match.
  • No customized settings are allowed For Example:
  • legacy defending
  • Custom tactics

  • If Disconnection Occurs during a Match
  • If electrical failure occurs the match is to be resumed and each team keeps the amount of goals scored and the time consumed in the previous match which can’t be completed will be neglected in new game For Example if the game crashed in 30 minutes play then the new match will only be played for 60 minutes and then will be ended.
  • A failure happening during the first 20 minutes leads to restart of the entire match.
  • A player will only be given 1 minute to make substitution during the match.

    Table Tennis Competition
    Let unleash the sportsman inside you. If you can turn the tables, fire blazing fast smashes, serve with pinpoint accuracy and show lightning fast reflexes, then, here is the opportunity. Grab the moment and win the crowd.

    1. Singles competitions will be arranged separately for both girls and boys.
    2. Maximum 3 members can register from single University.
    3. Each game is played to 11 points, except that if the score reaches 10-all, the game continues until one player leads by 2 points.
    4. The match will be of best of 3 games.
    5. Each player serves 2 points in a row and then the server is switched.
    6. International Table Tennis rules will be followed.
    7. Players will be divided into two pools.
    8. Rules will be conducted to players before match.
    9. After completion of pool matches, top two players from each pool will qualified to semifinals.
    10. The 2 winners of each semifinal match will qualified to finals. And the rest of two players of semifinals will have match for 3rd position.
    11. Offensive or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
    12. Referee’s decision will be considered final. He holds the authority to disqualify any individual as per circumstances.
    13. The registration fee for each participant would be Rs. 700/-.

    Mushaira Competition
    The students will come with their own poetry on any interesting topics.

    1. Participants need to come with their own poetry.
    2. There will be a single participant, teams are not allowed.
    3. Two individuals are allowed from each university.
    4. They need to send us the poetry at least one week ago from the main event.
    5. If there is any problem in the choice of the words etc, the participant will not be allowed.
    6. This competition invites poems in Urdu or Punjabi languages only.
    7. The registration fee for this competition would be Rs. 700/- (each participant).

    Mushaira is judged from the judges based on the following criteria:
  • Technical excellence
  • Rhyme/meter/suitability
  • Form and flow
  • Choice of words and readability
  • Message/interest/overall impact
  • Poem must have five but not more than 10 ash’aars.
  • The decision of the judges will be final
  • Use of foul, obscene, racist or otherwise objectionable language will automatically disqualify.

    Poster Design Competition
    In this competition, participants would be given a topic and they have to design a poster on the given topic using Adobe Photoshop/Corel Draw.

    1. There would be only one participant in each team. Two teams from each university are allowed.
    2. Poster must be of A3 size (297 x 420 mm).
    3. Acceptable tools of drawing include CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and GIMP (for Linux users).
    4. The registration fee per participant would be Rs. 700/-.
    5. The completed artwork must be of JPG format.
    6. Poster must not contain copyrighted material or work of others.
    7. The poster must not represent any particular individual, organisation, national flag or brand name and must not depict any religious theme.
    8. The poster must not include words, slogans or any text that may affect any group of society.
    9. Any Participant found to violate the rules, will be disqualified.
    10. A theme will be given which will have to be completed in the specified time.

    General Rules
    1. An institute can register a maximum of two teams.
    2. A team must consist of one student of registering institute.
    3. A team is expected to bring along the required hardware and software resources.
    4. All posters submitted for competition shall become the property of C.U.S.T.
    5. Posters will be judged on originality, content, quality, appeal and adherence to these contest rules and regulations.
    6. The judge’s decision will be final and no clarification will be given.
